When it comes to cocktails, we all have our preferences. Some like something sweet, while others something bitter. And, in most cases, price will probably come into consideration. After all, you don’t want to blow your entire drinking budget on a single drink. Right?
If only someone had informed those responsible for coming up with the following list of cocktails. After all, there are expensive drinks, and then there are those that fall into the stupidly expensive range. And if you think we’re exaggerating, guess again. How about a cocktail that will set you back over $20,000? Ridiculous? Of course it is. But then we must keep in mind that some people have so much money they apparently don’t know what to do with it.
Here are the 3 most expensive cocktails in the world.
Diamond Is Forever – $22,600
The Ritz-Carlton is Tokyo is the only location in the world that sells this drink, and it’s little wonder why. The single glass of alcoholic beverage is priced at $22,600. How, you ask, could it possibly cost so much? Because it’s not the drink that costs, but the diamond pendant that goes with it.
In this case, it’s unfair to say it’s the drink that costs so much money, since the drink itself is not especially outstanding, given the price. Obviously the drink is meant for special occasions, such as marriage proposals, and not meant for casual consumption.
But we’re just getting started on this list, don’t you worry.
Ono Champagne Cocktail – $10,000
A big step down in terms of price, but still no slouch in the making you broke department, the Ono Champagne Cocktail is served at the Encore Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. In this case, the beverage is also meant as a gift to a loved one, coming standard with a genuine gold necklace on the side. The champagne in the beverage itself is ultra rare, and served with an orange juice, apricot juice blend.
We’re not sure how many have woken up to this treat, but the alarmingly rich must surely have splashed out for one or two over the years. One can’t help but wonder how nervous the waiter was about spilling this upon having to deliver it to the room.
Martini On The Rock – $10,000
You’d think that a cocktail with a cost of $10,000 wouldn’t have its name based on a stupid pun, but you’d be wrong. Yes, the rock in the title is a diamond placed in the Martini. A very valuable diamond. But then, when you’re splashing out on a cocktail with so many digits, a little thing like bad pun surely wont turn you away.
Served at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City, a person has to order the beverage three days in advance, and even stop in at a jeweller to select a rock. So much for getting a little tipsy and making a spontaneous purchase on this one!
