Tomb Raider is developed by Microgaming and is based closely on the video game made by Eidos Interactive. It includes element from the film of the same name, starring popular Hollywood heartthrob Angelina Jolie. Like the film and the video game, this slot replicates the action and suspense that you’re more than used to in the Tomb Raider universe.
Lucky Nugget Casino takes a look at the popular Tomb Raider slot in more detail – enjoy!
How to play Tomb Raider
The game has five reels and fifteen paylines, and the maximum coins you can bet is 75. Wild symbols in this game include the Tomb Raider logo, with the scatter symbol being Lara Croft herself, which is responsible for releasing free spins. The idol – which appears to be an Aztec God – is the bonus symbol which then leads to the bonus round. This game includes quirky animations for the majority of symbols, one being where Lara Croft moves across the tomb logo firing at the screen.
Before starting the player must choose the coin denomination with the +/- buttons. The player has the option to enable up to 15 of the paylines, where the winning combinations only pay if they occur in the enabled lines. Finally, the player has to choose the number of coins per line. Once the settings are done, the game can then be started with the spin button at the bottom of the screen, kicking off the action of this awesome slot.
Positives And Negatives of Tomb Raider
This game certainly has its positives, but also has a couple of negatives which could be improved:
The positives of the game is that initial jackpot is rather attractive, with the potential top-prize set high from the get go. The graphics and animations are top quality, just like everything else you would expect in the series. Another benefit of the game is the popular theme, being part of an already popular universe. This means people will have more confidence in the game. Lastly, there’s auto play and expert mode included, so the player can choose the mode they want to play. This is perfect for high-rollers and newcomers.
But, like I said before, this game definitely has things that could be improved on. One of these is the music, which is of a poor standard; both the quality and the content of the music could be improved. Another thing is that the wild card doesn’t multiply the payouts, which when compared to the Thunderstruck franchise, looks pretty cheap. Lastly, the payouts are not progressive, which could make the game a bit monotonous. Overall though, we’re pretty impressed.
